Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
- 7 years of experience in material handling or similar industry (or 5 years with a master's degree).
- Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC programming, including GuardLogix.
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal PLC programming, including Starter.
- Experience with Ethernet/IP network architecture.
- Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings.
- Experience with HMI programming.
- Proven experience leading teams of controls engineers in large, complex projects.
- Experience in industrial machine control development and troubleshooting.
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the year.
Responsibilities
- Develop control system designs, deploy, and commission PLC code.
- Develop graphical user interfaces for material handling systems.
- Test and emulate code functionality before on-site deployment.
- Troubleshoot PLC code and electrical equipment on-site during commissioning.
- Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to support network architecture and design.
- Support Project Manager in controlling scope, schedule, and budget.
- Define electrical device requirements for system control.
- Develop documentation outlining system control functionality.
- Perform reviews of customer standards and specifications.
- Mentor other controls engineers.
