Requirements
- Strong backend software engineering experience with deep expertise in Java
- Advanced understanding of JVM internals, including threading, memory allocation, and garbage collection
- Experience building or optimizing low-latency, high-performance systems
- Strong knowledge in at least one of the following: compiler design, database engines, or front-office trading systems
- Experience designing or working with programming or domain-specific languages is highly valued
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a correctness-first mindset
- Ability to work on complex, highly technical systems with performance constraints
- Experience using modern developer tools, including AI-assisted engineering tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional engineering environments
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance, low-latency Java-based calculation engine components
- Work on the core multi-dimensional OLAP engine responsible for complex enterprise computations
- Collaborate with product teams to translate modeling and system requirements into executable technical designs
- Develop and refine runtime execution logic for a dynamically compiled modeling language
- Optimize JVM performance, including memory management, threading, and garbage collection behavior
- Ensure correctness-first implementation practices while balancing system performance and scalability
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly across engineering and product stakeholders
- Contribute to the evolution of internal language design and engine architecture
- Participate in code reviews and enforce high engineering standards across core systems
- Support continuous improvement of system reliability, latency, and computational efficiency
