Requirements
- Graduate degree in science, healthcare, or a related discipline required
- Doctoral-level education (MD, PharmD, PhD, DNP, etc.) strongly preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Field Medical, Medical Affairs, or related pharmaceutical/clinical environments, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong understanding of clinical research, pharmacotherapy, FDA regulations, scientific communication, and healthcare compliance standards
- Proven experience leading within matrix organizations and influencing cross-functional teams in a strategic and collaborative environment
- Prior experience managing MSL teams, field medical operations, or launch activities
- Knowledge or experience in cardiovascular or related therapeutic areas is preferred
- Strong communication, coaching, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to travel frequently (60–70%) across the assigned region with a valid unrestricted driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a regional Field Medical organization, guiding MSL managers and ensuring strong execution of field medical strategies and operational goals.
- Drive field medical excellence initiatives, including launch preparedness, deployment planning, training coordination, and implementation of medical engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with medical affairs, franchise leadership, and global partners to align regional activities with broader organizational objectives and therapeutic priorities.
- Oversee the collection and communication of field medical insights, enabling informed decision-making and improved cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop and track KPIs, deployment models, and reporting structures to measure field effectiveness and operational performance.
- Coach and mentor direct reports, fostering talent development, leadership growth, and a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with healthcare regulations, ethical guidelines, and internal compliance standards.
