Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CCS-P.
- Minimum 3 years of coding experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of professional billing and coding regulations.
- Knowledge of claim management, denials, and compliance processes.
- Experience working with coding vendors preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Current Washington State driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities of coding staff and external vendors.
- Monitor coding workflows, work queues, denials, and claim edits.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to resolve coding issues.
- Oversee compliance audits and ensure corrective actions.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to coding teams.
- Assist with leadership coverage and operational continuity.
- Contribute to process improvements and operational strategies.
