Requirements
- Fluent proficiency in English and American Sign Language (ASL).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional ASL interpreting experience in higher education or professional settings.
- Current national ASL Interpreter certification in good standing.
- Strong ability to interpret technical and educational content in real time.
- Excellent communication and listening skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative, and virtual classroom environment.
- Strong professionalism, reliability, and adaptability in live instructional settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time ASL interpretation during live, online instructor-led training sessions delivered via Zoom and similar platforms.
- Support technical subject matter delivery in areas such as cybersecurity, data analytics, and IT support programs.
- Collaborate with a second interpreter to ensure accurate, continuous, and seamless interpretation throughout class sessions.
- Facilitate clear communication between instructors and learners in a fast-paced virtual classroom environment.
- Maintain high interpretation accuracy while adapting to technical terminology and instructional contexts.
- Contribute to an inclusive learning experience that supports accessibility and learner engagement.
