Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing and scaling distributed backend systems, with deep expertise in Go; Java knowledge is considered a plus.
  • Strong background in billing systems, metering platforms, or usage-based pricing models; experience with Stripe APIs is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to architect high-performance, reliable backend infrastructure in cloud-native environments.
  • Solid understanding of observability concepts, OpenTelemetry, monitoring practices, and operational excellence.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development and engineering tools while maintaining strong technical judgment and ownership of outcomes.
  • Strong focus on data accuracy, testing, and reliability, especially in systems connected to financial operations.
  • Product-oriented mindset with the ability to create scalable internal tools and developer-centric solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience, including improving team processes and elevating engineering standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural vision and technical direction for backend systems focused on billing, metering, marketplace integrations, and revenue infrastructure.
  • Design and build scalable distributed systems using Go, ensuring high reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and optimize usage-based billing and metering solutions capable of accurately processing large volumes of data events.
  • Drive integrations with payment providers, cloud marketplaces, CRM systems, and internal reporting platforms.
  • Establish engineering best practices related to code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and security.
  • Proactively identify technical risks, improve platform resilience, and support world-class monitoring and operational processes.
  • Mentor engineers across teams, review technical designs and product requirements, and promote a collaborative, psychologically safe engineering culture.
  • Partner closely with product and leadership teams to align technical strategy with customer needs, scalability goals, and business priorities.
