Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner registration in Alberta (CRNA), British Columbia (BCCNM), or Ontario (CNO)
- At least 3 years of active medical practice experience
- Experience with remote or digital prescribing
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Confident working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Comfortable using digital platforms and online clinical workflows
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong patient safety and governance mindset
- Hold professional insurance that includes cover for asynchronous and off-label prescribing
Responsibilities
- Review and assess asynchronous patient consultations through the MedExpress platform
- Prescribe medications safely and appropriately in line with clinical protocols
- Support fellow prescribers and collaborate with the Nurse Practitioner team
- Assess patient side effects and provide ongoing clinical support
- Communicate directly with patients via chat, phone, or video
- Maintain concise and accurate patient documentation
- Ensure safe prescribing practices and escalate concerns
- Participate in clinical governance meetings
- Discuss complex clinical cases with peers and the Lead Prescriber
