Requirements
- 10+ years of experience handling Homeowners and Dwelling Fire claims at an insurance carrier or TPA.
- Experience with large losses.
- Proficiency with Xactimate.
- Strong construction knowledge.
- Ability to scope property losses.
- In-depth comprehension of insurance contracts and coverage application.
- Ability to identify subrogation and salvage opportunities.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to obtain licenses in NY and other required states.
- Experience in a heavy Public Adjuster environment.
- College degree (preferred).
- Continued insurance education and/or designations (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Adjust reserves and provide recommendations consistent with corporate policies.
- Communicate professionally with all parties to gather claim information.
- Review and adjust estimates.
- Contact and interview insureds to evaluate claims.
- Enter payments and reserves into the computer system.
- Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate settlements to reduce loss ratios.
- Maintain claim files with detailed analysis and action plans.
- Train, supervise, and mentor team members on virtual claim technology and estimate writing.
- Review and write estimates for pass-through claims and large losses.
