Requirements

  • Experience or strong interest in IT Service Management, preferably within an ITIL-aligned environment.
  • ITIL Foundation certification, or a willingness to obtain it.
  • Previous experience in Asset Management, Configuration Management, CMDB administration or similar is preferred.
  • Strong data entry, data quality, record management and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information and follow up as required.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage repetitive, detail-focused tasks accurately.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A practical process mindset, with an interest in improving how things work over time.
  • Confidence using ITSM tools, asset registers, spreadsheets, or similar systems.
  • NV1 Clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate asset and configuration records across CT systems through consistent data entry and regular updates.
  • Support full asset lifecycle management, including assignment, return, maintenance, disposal and retirement activities.
  • Update and maintain CMDB records, ensuring configuration items (CIs), relationships, locations and status details are accurate and current.
  • Proactively identify and resolve missing, incomplete or inconsistent asset and configuration data to improve overall data quality.
  • Work closely with technical teams, service desk, project teams and service management stakeholders to validate asset and configuration information.
  • Ensure all changes to assets and configuration items are properly documented and reflected in relevant systems.
  • Assist in conducting audits of asset and configuration data, supporting compliance requirements and evidence gathering.
  • Compile reports on asset and configuration data quality, tracking discrepancies, remediation actions and outstanding updates.
  • Support audit requests by sourcing and validating relevant asset and configuration information in a timely manner.
  • Act as a first point of contact for basic asset and configuration queries across teams.
