Requirements
- 7–15 years of experience in collections risk management, credit risk, or portfolio analytics within fintech, banking, or regulated card programs.
- Strong end-to-end understanding of delinquency lifecycle management, including roll rates, cure rates, charge-offs, and recovery modeling.
- Hands-on experience managing or partnering with third-party collections agencies.
- Strong quantitative skills with proficiency in SQL and either Python or R.
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks including FDCPA, Reg F, UDAAP.
- Experience working with SMB or business lending portfolios.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to design scalable collections frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong ownership mindset.
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of collections risk strategy across early delinquency, late-stage collections, charge-off, and recovery for consumer and SMB credit portfolios.
- Design and optimize treatment strategies across DPD buckets, including contact strategies, segmentation, channel mix, and intervention timing to maximize cure rates.
- Lead analytical frameworks for hardship programs, settlements, and modification strategies.
- Define and govern vendor and third-party collections strategy, including placement timing, performance management, and KPI frameworks.
- Develop settlement and litigation strategies based on risk segmentation and SMB owner liability considerations.
- Own charge-off policy, recovery forecasting, and loss curve modeling.
- Build end-to-end collections analytics frameworks to identify early deterioration signals.
- Partner with credit risk, finance, legal, compliance, and operations teams.
- Lead performance reviews and present insights to senior leadership.
- Contribute to stress testing and loss forecasting models.
