Requirements

  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis, or related fields.
  • Solid experience with SQL database administration, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, high availability, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of backup strategies, restore procedures, disaster recovery planning, and operational resilience.
  • Experience applying information security practices to database environments, including hardening, encryption, access management, and compliance standards such as ISO 27001/27002.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, connectivity, and infrastructure integration within enterprise environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems in critical and high-availability environments.
  • Experience working with virtualized environments such as VMware and storage integration technologies.
  • Ability to analyze operational risks, business impacts, and continuity requirements in mission-critical systems.
  • Experience creating and maintaining scripts, queries, and automation processes for database administration and operational support.
  • Knowledge or experience with Progress OpenEdge environments will be considered a strong differential.
  • Analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and optimize SQL database environments with a focus on scalability, stability, security, and long-term sustainability.
  • Ensure high availability, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and operational continuity for critical production database environments.
  • Define and review database architecture components, including storage, memory allocation, processing, and infrastructure integration according to business demands.
  • Plan, validate, and maintain backup, restore, disaster recovery, and data recovery testing routines to ensure business continuity.
  • Lead technical analysis of complex incidents, performance bottlenecks, and operational risks affecting database environments.
  • Collaborate closely with infrastructure, networking, security, and systems teams to guarantee technical alignment and efficient integration across environments.
  • Apply and reinforce database security best practices, including access control, encryption, hardening, and compliance standards.
  • Support strategic technology initiatives, architectural improvements, and technical decision-making processes related to database management.
  • Mentor junior professionals and contribute to the continuous improvement of governance, operational processes, and technical standards within the database area.
