Requirements

  • Board-certified pulmonologist or respiratory physician.
  • Active US medical license.
  • Track record of clinical practice in pulmonary and/or critical care medicine.
  • Meaningful exposure to clinical research (e.g., PI, sub-investigator, medical monitor, or advisor).
  • Ability to translate clinical reality into research design.
  • Experience advising on respiratory indications including asthma, COPD, IPF, and pulmonary hypertension.
  • Knowledge of spirometry, lung function endpoints, and respiratory biomarkers.
  • Strong communication skills for engagement with sponsors, regulators, and clinical teams.
  • Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert review of respiratory trial protocols, advising on inclusion/exclusion criteria, endpoints, and safety monitoring.
  • Sense-check recruitment assumptions, identify practical barriers to enrolment, and advise on site and investigator selection.
  • Lend clinical and scientific credibility to sponsor and business development conversations.
  • Offer ad-hoc clinical guidance on safety signals and patient safety considerations across active respiratory trials.
  • Act as a peer voice to investigators and external KOLs.
  • Contribute to best practices by shaping SOPs and training materials for respiratory trials.
