Requirements
- Experience in fraud, risk, trust, safety, AML, or compliance.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Expertise in machine learning techniques (regression, classification).
- Experience with experimental design, causal inference, or decision analysis.
- Strong product and business judgment.
- Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake).
- Experience with data transformation tools like dbt.
- Excellent communication and ability to translate complex analysis into recommendations.
- Proven ability to work in ambiguous and fast-paced environments.
- Interest in Bitcoin and familiarity with fintech or regulated sectors.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering to define technical architecture for internal risk systems.
- Define risk metrics, success criteria, and decision frameworks.
- Analyze fraud, scam, and abuse patterns in crypto and fiat products.
- Maintain reports tracking fraud losses, false positives, and operational efficiency.
- Design and structure data instrumentation and decision systems.
- Evaluate and iterate on risk rules and controls using rigorous analysis.
- Apply machine learning where it materially improves decision quality.
- Conduct deep-dive investigations into incidents and emerging threats.
- Communicate insights clearly and persuasively to stakeholders.
- Establish data standards and analytical best practices for the Risk team.
