Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Backend or Data Platform Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience writing production-level SQL and backend code.
- Recent expertise with Python.
- Experience with data modeling concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling, data vault).
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog and Cloudwatch.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled developer productivity tooling.
- Proven track record of delivering incremental value in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience participating in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and evolve data models and schemas in Postgres.
- Develop and maintain data access standards using Python and Typescript.
- Lead migration initiatives for core business data models.
- Collaborate with product teams to ensure data quality at the source.
- Maintain and improve transactional database infrastructure in AWS.
- Mentor engineers and improve internal architecture and data modeling standards.
- Profile, analyze, and tune slow SQL queries.
- Participate in on-call rotations for infrastructure and application issues.
