Requirements
- Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or a related field (PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Strong background in medical communications, scientific publications, congress planning, or Medical Affairs strategy.
- Proven expertise in translating complex scientific data into clear, compelling, and compliant medical content.
- Deep understanding of clinical research, publication planning, healthcare regulations, and scientific communication best practices.
- Experience working within matrixed organizations and managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders and priorities.
- Therapeutic expertise in neuroscience or rare diseases is highly preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and project management skills with the ability to influence across teams.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience mentoring communication or medical affairs professionals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive US medical communications strategies supporting neuroscience product launches, lifecycle initiatives, and scientific engagement activities.
- Lead publication planning activities, including scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, congress presentations, and communication plans aligned with therapeutic objectives.
- Create and maintain core scientific narratives and communication platforms to ensure consistency, accuracy, and strategic alignment across all medical content.
- Oversee the development of medical education materials, digital content, symposia assets, MSL tools, and scientific congress communications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams to align messaging and communication priorities.
- Serve as the primary liaison for content development initiatives, coordinating effectively with internal stakeholders and external scientific agencies.
- Ensure all materials adhere to publication standards, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines including GPP and ICMJE standards.
- Lead, mentor, and support medical writers and communications professionals to ensure high-quality execution, compliance, and timely delivery of projects.
