Requirements

  • Master of Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program, with at least five years of post-master’s professional practice experience.
  • Minimum of two years of online or hybrid teaching experience in social work or related fields, or equivalent experience in professional training or consultation.
  • Strong ability to teach at the college level with demonstrated effectiveness in student engagement and learning facilitation.
  • Understanding of social work practice and ability to integrate a biblically informed worldview within academic instruction.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools and familiarity with virtual learning platforms and online teaching technologies.
  • Preferred: Doctoral degree in social work or related field, clinical social work licensure, CSWE teaching experience, and experience with LMS platforms such as Canvas.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction across social work courses in accordance with approved curriculum and academic schedules, ensuring alignment with CSWE standards and student learning outcomes.
  • Support student success through mentoring, academic advising, timely grading, and consistent, constructive feedback on assignments and participation.
  • Maintain active communication with students through virtual classes, emails, announcements, and discussion forums, including rapid response times and regular engagement.
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and performance, addressing academic concerns, professionalism, and readiness for field practice as needed.
  • Contribute to curriculum improvement, accreditation processes, and continuous program development in collaboration with academic leadership and subject matter experts.
  • Participate in retention initiatives by maintaining student contact, encouraging participation, and supporting at-risk or absent students.
  • Complete administrative duties such as grading submission, roster verification, reporting, and other assigned responsibilities.
