Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10–15 years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, or technology finance within SaaS or large-scale enterprise environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and driving cross-functional programs across Engineering, Finance, and Operations.
  • Strong expertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their pricing, billing, and commitment models.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling FinOps practices, including governance, cost allocation, and optimization programs.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to connect cloud spend to business metrics such as ARR, COGS, and gross margin.
  • Hands-on experience with FinOps tools and analytics platforms, with strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with strong communication and executive presence.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, or data tools such as SQL or Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the end-to-end cloud financial management strategy, including forecasting, budgeting, cost allocation, and unit economics across a SaaS platform.
  • Build and scale FinOps governance frameworks, including tagging standards, chargeback/showback models, approval workflows, and cloud cost controls.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives such as rightsizing, reserved capacity management, savings plans, and elimination of waste across environments.
  • Develop executive-level reporting and insights on cloud spend trends, anomalies, forecasts, and financial risks to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and CloudOps to embed cost visibility into operational workflows through dashboards, KPIs, and automation.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a FinOps team while establishing best practices, accountability structures, and cross-functional influence.
  • Collaborate with Finance and FP&A on business planning, pricing models, unit economics, and cloud cost impact analysis for new initiatives and expansion.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as M&A, product launches, and cloud migrations through financial modeling and scenario planning.
