Requirements
- Long-term and deep knowledge in Apache Solr, Querqy, and related technologies
- Experience with comparable search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Opensearch)
- Willingness to learn Solr-based stack if experienced with other search technologies
- Experience in vector-based search systems
- Proficiency in language models for interpreting search queries
- Experience with hybrid search approaches
- Very good knowledge in at least one object-oriented or functional programming language (preferably Java or Kotlin)
- Willingness to learn JVM-based tech stack
- Experience with modern web frameworks (e.g., SpringBoot, Rails, Laravel)
- Experience with MongoDB and/or other NoSQL databases
- Experience with AWS
- Experience with Docker Container technologies
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Curiosity for new technologies and ability to quickly grasp new topics
- Good German language skills (at least B2 level)
- Good English language skills
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and develop customer-centric new features for the Search Engine product area
- Take responsibility for the entire development process from architectural design to continuous deployments and maintenance
- Actively own code and drive technical decisions in alignment with stakeholders
- Define suitable testing, quality, and performance standards
- Estimate and evaluate effort for complex features considering technical requirements and business impact
- Proactively contribute to knowledge building for search technologies in the team
- Support team members in their technical development
- Actively own services and infrastructure, driving technical decisions with platform teams
- Define quality and performance standards based on product development stage (PoC, MVP, scalable product)
