Requirements
- Advanced Data Modeling: Deep expertise in designing scalable schemas for both relational databases and modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Distributed Systems Mastery: Proven experience building and managing high-throughput streaming platforms using tools like Kafka, Flink, or Spark Streaming.
- Production ML/LLM Engineering: Hands-on experience deploying LLMs in production, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures, prompt engineering, and vector database management.
- Systems Programming & Scripting: Mastery of Python and SQL, with a strong grasp of building production-grade internal tools and automation.
- Infrastructure as Code & Cloud: Proficiency in managing cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines to ensure repeatable, reliable deployments.
- Observability Mindset: Experience implementing data observability tools (e.g., Monte Carlo, Great Expectations) to track data lineage and health proactively.
Responsibilities
- Architect Multi-Region Platforms: Design and maintain robust data pipelines (streaming and batch) that support a global footprint, ensuring low latency and high availability across multiple regions.
- Productionize ML Reliability: Lead the LLMOps strategy, focusing on the stability, versioning, and cost-effective scaling of large language models in a production environment.
- Drive Data Governance: Architect privacy-first security controls and compliance frameworks (GDPR/FERPA) to ensure school data is handled with the highest integrity.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Act as a technical bridge between Product Owners, SRE, and Engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable data roadmaps.
- Evaluate Next-Gen Tech: Research and prototype emerging data technologies to keep Finalsite at the cutting edge of the EdTech landscape.
- Mentor and Influence: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other data engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, observability, and continuous improvement.
