Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a software engineer developing user-facing applications
- Fluency working with product metrics, designing and analyzing experiments with exposure to tools like BigQuery, HEX, Firebase, etc.
- Software development experience in Kotlin for Android
- Familiarity with GraphQL
- Experience leveraging GenAI tools to increase software engineering productivity
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule for the team.
- BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong focus on user experience and usability.
- Entrepreneurial spirit; self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action.
- Excellent communication skills; able to collaborate with teams in a fully remote environment, and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Be the technical lead for a high-caliber, inclusive team of engineers across the organization.
- Work cross-functionally, collaborate and partner with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to design and build novel products and features that our users will love.
- Work alongside a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers. Drive step-function improvements in developer workflows, implement best practices, and mentor engineers across the organization.
- Participate in the full development cycle: design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Be a main driver in the planning, development, and implementation across Reddit’s Android architecture in conjunction with numerous partner teams, identifying and delivering on major opportunities.
- Enable a culture of metrics led execution, with a focus on operational excellence and system observability.
- Partner cross-functionally and with senior leadership on our strategic roadmap, driving engineering and product bets that will bring Home to the next level.
