Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in level design within the gaming industry
  • Proven track record of shipping at least one AA+ title, ideally in action-RPG or similar genres
  • Advanced proficiency with Unreal Engine, including strong Blueprint scripting skills
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in level layout, pacing, and player engagement
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to balance creative ambition with technical constraints and production timelines
  • Passion for game design, with a deep understanding of immersive world-building principles
  • Experience with open-world or non-linear level design (bonus)
  • Familiarity with 3D tools (e.g., Maya, Blender) (bonus)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of large-scale levels, from early concepts and whiteboxing to final polished experiences
  • Create engaging mission structures, encounters, and environmental puzzles aligned with gameplay mechanics and narrative goals
  • Build immersive worlds through environmental storytelling and cohesive spatial design
  • Implement gameplay systems and level scripting using Unreal Engine Blueprints, ensuring performance and stability
  • Collaborate closely with art, combat, narrative, sound, and systems teams to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences
  • Mentor junior and mid-level designers, providing guidance and maintaining high design standards
  • Document and promote best practices to ensure consistency across the level design team
