Requirements

  • Possess an active certification as a Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited institution (NHA, AAMA, NCCT, NAHP, etc).
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses to accurately assess patient eligibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with patients empathetically, showing sensitivity to their needs and concerns.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure accurate completion of enrollment applications and documentation.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage multiple patient enrollments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, computer proficiency, and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct when dealing with sensitive patient information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Must speak and write Haitian/Creole and English fluently.

Responsibilities

  • Guide patients through the enrollment process for healthcare programs, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
  • Evaluate patient eligibility for specific healthcare programs based on criteria provided.
  • Conduct comprehensive consultations with patients to gather necessary information and explain program benefits and requirements.
  • Accurately document patient information, enrollment details, and program eligibility assessments in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Monitor the progress of enrollment applications, communicate with patients, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide patients with clear and concise explanations regarding healthcare programs offered by Medsien.
  • Adhere to all relevant privacy regulations, such as HIPAA, and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  • Stay informed about changes, updates, and new offerings related to healthcare programs, and effectively communicate these changes to patients.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, social workers, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless patient enrollment.
