Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, pre-sales, or database consulting
- Strong expertise in MS SQL Server, including high availability, disaster recovery, clustering, and performance optimization
- Experience with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS/Aurora, or GCP Cloud SQL)
- Solid understanding of enterprise database ecosystems, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- Experience with containerized database environments is a plus
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Go, or JavaScript)
- Proven ability to design and troubleshoot complex distributed systems and database architectures
- Experience supporting POCs, performance testing, or benchmarking in enterprise environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and executive stakeholders
- Strong sales acumen with the ability to articulate technical value in business terms
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as required
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor in pre-sales engagements
- Help customers understand, evaluate, and adopt advanced database protection and security solutions
- Translate complex enterprise requirements into scalable architectures
- Guide customers through technical validation and implementation planning
- Act as a subject matter expert for database workload protection across on-prem and cloud environments
- Support strategic sales opportunities by aligning technical solutions with customer business goals
- Lead technical presentations, demos, workshops, and executive-level solution discussions
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot proof-of-concept (POC) environments in collaboration with presales teams
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs, contribute to proposals, and create technical documentation and white papers
- Identify customer challenges and architect tailored solutions to remove technical sales barriers
- Provide guidance on MS SQL Server architectures, including HADR, Always On, clustering, and replication strategies
- Engage with cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL, AWS RDS/Aurora, and similar environments
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams by sharing customer feedback and influencing roadmap direction
- Deliver competitive insights and market intelligence from customer engagements
