Job Details

Solid experience with PHP-based backend services (Laravel, Symfony or another framework) and API development.
Experience following best practices (modern tooling, typed code, building a culture around testing and maintainability).
Strong experience building complex, dynamic web applications with modern tools like TypeScript.
Understanding the nuances of Server-Side Rendering (SSR) vs. Client-Side Rendering (CSR).
Ability to build performant, reusable UI components in modern JS frameworks like Alpine.js and React with tools like Tailwind.
Experience with (or a strong desire to learn) Temporal.io or similar orchestration frameworks.
Experience working with databases and marshaling data from various external APIs.
Solution-oriented and understand that software is meant to solve real-world operational problems.
Care about the product, UX, flows and features.

Build and maintain new and existing applications for Future's flagship digital publishing platform.
Work directly with the Tech Lead and other developers.
Build systems for SEO & GEO to attract new users and retain them.
Build and consume robust APIs to connect the new creator platform with core internal services (Identity, Asset Management, Content APIs) and AI moderation tools.
Write clean, strongly-typed code backed by comprehensive unit and integration tests.
Champion best practices in code reviews.
Contribute to the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and local development environments (containers).
Work closely with the Tech Lead and product stakeholders to refine requirements, estimate tasks, and solve complex technical challenges.
