Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in technical program management or a similar role
- Experience leading complex, safety-critical AI software, robotics, or systems programs
- Experience managing large model releases and model development lifecycles
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Strong track record of taking large, complex programs from initial concept to successful launch
- Demonstrated ability to act as the primary point of contact for complex programs
- Track record of communicating progress, risks, and strategic recommendations to leadership
- Technical expertise in robotics or autonomous systems
- Strong background driving safety-critical ML software and model releases
Responsibilities
- Own and execute large-scale, complex technical programs critical to Motional's roadmap, focusing on model development and release cycles.
- Ensure alignment between senior engineering leaders, product managers, and executive stakeholders.
- Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for high-level behavioral capabilities.
- Manage dependencies and drive integration efforts across Prediction and ML Planning teams to successfully launch large models.
- Dive deep into ML and behavioral issues to facilitate trade-off discussions.
- Drive teams to convergence on robust solutions.
- Proactively identify, quantify, and communicate technical risks and dependencies.
- Develop and execute mitigation strategies for high-priority issues impacting driverless milestones.
- Partner deeply with engineering and product leadership to ensure the ML and behaviors roadmap is well-defined, integrated, and aligned with top-level company goals.
