Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Leadership responsibilities and experience mentoring junior engineers
- Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale
- Proficient in Python or Kotlin
- Track record of developing highly available distributed systems
- Experience with AWS
- Experience with MySQL
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Expert at synthesizing complex business products and technical requirements
- Comfortable navigating a large code base and debugging others' code
- Experience defining a technical plan for feature delivery with elegant, simple and extensible design
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team
- Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
- Ensure everyone is supported throughout delivery
- Collaborate with product management, design & analytics in the product development lifecycle
- Articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions considering risks and trade-offs
- Proactively identify and lead in solving project, process, technology or business issues
- Drive detailed project definition, design, cross-functional alignment, estimation, task break-down, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance
- Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics
- Contribute to a sense of community by engaging in growth and development activities
- Mentor engineers to help improve their designs, code quality, and testing
- Own the availability, reliability, and performance of your team’s systems
- Participate in an on-call rotation
