Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the games industry as a technical artist
- Strong C# knowledge and experience for tool creation
- Strong Python knowledge and experience for tool creation
- Strong knowledge and experience in Unity games engine for art and tooling
- Understanding of Blender modelling package and Blender tool creation
- Experience profiling CPU, GPU and memory usage
- Experience designing intuitive user interfaces and user experience (desirable)
- Experience with tooling for Substance Painter, Substance Designer and ZBrush (desirable)
- Great technical knowledge in 3D modelling (desirable)
- Experience optimising for lower-end hardware (desirable)
- HLSL/GLSL knowledge to create performant shaders (desirable)
- Amplify Shader Editor experience (desirable)
- Compute shader knowledge (desirable)
- Understanding of Unity's Scriptable Render Pipeline (URP/HDRP) (desirable)
- Proficiency with Shader Graph and VFX for graph creation and custom tooling (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Working closely with the tech art lead to deliver art tooling requirements
- Liaising with art and tech to collaborate tool improvements effectively
- Driving tool improvement efforts by informing best decisions and ensuring tooling is intuitive to use with great user experience
- Document tooling improvements for the team to follow
- Help solve complex technical issues
- Develop and support art pipelines
- Ensure the project’s artistic vision is achieved by developing appropriate technical solutions
- Be proactive, follow standards and best practices, as well as promote them and mentor less experienced team members
