Director, Security Operations

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred) 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity At least 5 years in leadership roles Proven experience managing security operations in a managed services or MSSP environment preferred Strong understanding of SOC operations, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, threat intelligence, and incident response workflows Familiarity with cloud security operations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Demonstrated success in building and leading diverse, distributed teams Excellent communication skills Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent

Develop and execute SOC vision and strategy Build, mentor, and lead security operations team Establish operational metrics, KPIs, and SLAs Serve as escalation point for severe security incidents Direct daily SOC activities including threat monitoring and incident response Oversee development of incident handling procedures Coordinate with engineering on security tool deployment Ensure consistent delivery of managed detection and response services Act as senior client contact for security operations Provide regular reporting and executive summaries Support sales with client meetings and capability articulation Ensure security deliverables and compliance obligations are met Oversee vulnerability management Ensure alignment with frameworks like CMMC, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and relevant regulations Partner with compliance and risk teams for audit readiness Stay current on threat landscape and emerging technologies Introduce intelligence-driven improvements to incident response Champion automation and orchestration of workflows Evaluate and recommend new security tools and solutions
