Requirements:
4+ years of experience building scalable backend systems Strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability Ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty, ambiguity, and challenge of quickly evolving goals Excelled in cross-functional teams, working fluidly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other highly skilled specialists Prior experience in the payments and fraud space a plus Experience with Scala (no prior experience required) Experience with GCP services including GKE, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Spanner Containerized microservices architecture
Responsibilities:
Design, build and review code for our fraud and abuse backend platform Iterate on features using Scala and technologies within GCP Ship code and iterate on features in an agile manner Operate autonomously but work closely with engineers and PMs Collaborate cross-functionally with the product team and other Hopper teams
