Senior Data Scientist, Learner Experience

Motivated by the Khan Academy mission. Proven cross-cultural competency skills. Background in applied math, statistics, economics, or related technical field. 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics. Proficient with statistical techniques (e.g., multiple regression, causal inference, AB testing, hypothesis testing). Advanced SQL foundations. Ability to manipulate data using R or Python. Compelling data storytelling and visualization (e.g., Looker). Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Strong business intuition & judgment. Prior experience working in the education industry is a plus.

Partner with product teams to understand and develop theories of action for new features. Identify and measure initiative success through goal setting, forecasting, and analysis of outcome metrics. Perform exploratory analyses on datasets to extract insights about teacher & learner behavior. Quantify the impact of features, programs, and interventions using statistical techniques. Share analytical results with non-technical audiences. Contribute to the development of self-service analytics tools and improve data tools/datasets with engineering teams.
