Requirements:
BS/MS/PHD in chemical engineering or related discipline. MBA or equivalent experience desirable. 25 years or more of relevant industrial or consulting experience. Demonstrated expertise in the technical, management, and regulatory aspects of process safety. Strong project execution and program management experience. International work experience desirable. Recognized expert in process safety, loss prevention, or related field. CCPS Certified (CCPSC), Professional Engineering (PE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or other appropriate certification. Knowledge and experience with contracts, licensing agreements, and intellectual property protection. Negotiating skills (business arrangements, project contracts, licensing, etc.). Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills. Experience in building and sustaining customer relationships globally. Good understanding of AIChE and CCPS volunteer structures or similar environments. Strong oral and written communication skills. Cultural sensitivity required. Advanced knowledge and proficiency of computer tools (MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, web productivity tools).
Responsibilities:
Lead CCPS staff and consultants in expanding CCPS Body of Knowledge. Lead CCPS project execution process and oversee key CCPS projects. Manage project budgets and monitor project progress. Provide subject matter expertise on CCPS technical content globally. Organize/lead CCPS technical steering committee and Planning Board meetings. Coordinate project proposal creation and balloting. Provide technical leadership in global and regional conferences and meetings. Lead CCPS Business Development activities, focusing on Europe and new industry segments. Become a Level 1 Process Safety Trainer and lead/support AIChE Process Safety Management training. Establish new instructor qualifications and approve/evaluate instructors. Participate in CCPS membership recruitment and member service activities. Lead/oversee intellectual property protection for CCPS logo and products. Provide technical leadership and supervision to CCPS staff and consultants. Provide technical leadership on updating CCPS Technical Tools. Solicit grants, organize grant projects, and track grantor documentation. Represent CCPS and AIChE globally with government organizations, associations, and press.
