Requirements:
5+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, including manufacturing or product-based businesses. Direct experience supporting a company under Act 60 with compliance, reporting, and agency coordination. Strong command of US GAAP, monthly close, reconciliations, and internal controls. Working knowledge of Puerto Rico tax and compliance infrastructure. Hands-on with inventory/cost accounting in a manufacturing context. Advanced Excel/Google Sheets. Comfortable with accounting systems (QBO/Xero/ERP). Bilingual (Spanish/English) professional proficiency required.
Responsibilities:
Set up and maintain accounting frameworks for Act 60 manufacturing decree. Prepare annual compliance deliverables and coordinate with authorities. Track and document eligible activities to support audits. Serve as internal contact with external advisors. Own monthly close and deliver financial statements. Manage AP/AR, vendor onboarding, and payment runs. Implement and oversee inventory, COGS, and manufacturing cost accounting. Build and enforce accounting policies and internal controls. Coordinate Puerto Rico tax filings and payments. Oversee payroll processing. Create budgets/forecasts and provide variance analysis. Build a 13-week cash forecast. Model the financial impact of Act 60 incentives. Evaluate, implement, and optimize accounting system. Establish scalable workflows and dashboards.
