Senior Software Engineer (Labs & Prototyping) - Canada, Europe, Brazil

5-7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience Track record of building and shipping robust products or prototypes Professional experience developing with Ruby on Rails and Vue.js, or exceptional skill in similar technologies with demonstrable ability to learn quickly Demonstrated experience with rapid prototyping and fast iteration cycles Exposure to AI/ML frameworks, LLMs, or vector databases is highly desirable Strong collaborator with ability to thrive in autonomous and interactive settings Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills Insatiable curiosity for emerging tech and new ways of working Ability to shift fluidly from abstract ideation to hands-on implementation Excellent communication skills, with clear, concise documentation and constructive feedback

Design, architect, and implement high-quality prototypes and proof-of-concepts Engage deeply with Storyblok’s core tech stack (Ruby on Rails, Vue.js) or equivalent technologies Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies (LLMs, vector databases, generative AI) and apply them Collaborate with the CIO and team to brainstorm, frame, and prioritize experimental projects Translate abstract ideas and business needs into tangible, working solutions Participate in technical planning, code reviews, and architectural decisions Document process, assumptions, and learnings Embrace short development cycles, high autonomy, and creative ambiguity Travel regularly for team workshops and offsites
