Requirements:

5+ years of experience in web development and engineering, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
Proven success leading cross-functional development teams and delivering complex web projects
Demonstrated ownership of a portfolio of websites, including hands-on experience managing site migrations
Proven experience in the media or publishing industry managing high-traffic content platforms
Strong technical expertise in modern web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, and CMS-driven architectures; experience with frameworks like Next.js, Nuxt, or Astro is a plus

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of developers, ensuring high-quality execution of projects
Develop and implement technical strategies aligned with the Audience Technology roadmap
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the engineering team
Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of web applications and platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and security
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, and Audience Development—to define technical requirements and priorities
Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and thorough technical documentation
Guide architectural decisions, conduct technical design reviews, and lead code reviews to maintain high engineering standards
Monitor and optimize website performance to ensure fast load times and exceptional user experiences
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation
Support the growth and development of team members through coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback
