Requirements
- Good hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL and its provided tools/contribution modules
- Skilled with PostgreSQL ecosystem tools and technologies
- Knowledgeable about performance tuning, query optimization, & index tuning
- Know-how of backup solutions (pg base backup, pgBackRest, WAL-G) and Point-in-Time-Recovery
- Some experience with high availability solutions (replication, routers, proxies)
- Exposure and practice with zero-downtime procedures
- Good understanding of monitoring requirements
- Demonstrable experience administering Linux-based systems
- Ability to troubleshoot methodically and resolve complex issues
- Self-taught and enthused to grow skill set
- Availability to travel for occasional team meetings, conferences, or customer visits
- Experience working with customers in English
- Desirable: Kubernetes knowledge
Responsibilities
- Gather relevant data and investigate issues for customers
- Provide detailed analysis of findings via email, instant message, or voice
- Perform screen-sharing sessions for production-impacting issues
- Author blog posts on interesting topics
- Answer questions on the company forum
- Create articles in the customer-facing knowledge base
- Host webinars
