Requirements:
  • History of strategic leadership in managing and inspiring People teams including HR, Recruitment, and Administrative functions that support global teams.
  • Experience building a best in class employee experience in a remote context.
  • Experience creating and executing strategies to build a strong internal and external employer brand that attracts and retains top talent.
  • Strong command of the necessary technology, processes and data required to support an effective People team.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices, HR compliance/regulations, and emerging trends both in the US and globally.
  • Brings an analytical mind to create data-driven strategies and plans.
  • Excellent strategic planning and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed along with superb attention to detail, passion for analytics, and strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed (estimated 2-3 trips per year).
Responsibilities:
  • Help develop and execute the People Team’s global strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead a crew across the HR, Recruitment, and IT teams while positively defining & contributing to the company’s overall culture and employee experience.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to define and build a world class global employee experience, regardless of their port of call, ensuring we live by our Pirate Code and core values.
  • Bring remote work best practices to ensure we operate successfully as a remote team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulation, in collaboration with internal and external counsel.
  • Measure your progress with key metrics and performance standards.
  • Lead the continued refinement and evolution of our company-wide performance management and compensation systems.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders org wide to deeply understand, analyze, and synthesize their needs.
  • You’re comfortable in a remote environment where there’s lots of change.
  • You’re able to work from home and connect with your crewmates throughout the day over chat, voice, and video through company provided equipment. You’ll also have opportunities for in-person meetings at various locations.

  • Champion HR technology and analytics improvements, ensuring teams have the right tools and data to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Be eager to roll up your sleeves to drive best-in-class execution, tackle challenges, and step in when needed to solve problems
  • Empower and guide the Talent Acquisition team to refine and optimize recruiting strategies to attract and retain top talent
  • Oversee and provide strategic direction for employer branding, onboarding, and candidate experience initiatives
  • Lead the overall Learning & Development strategy, ensuring leadership development, career growth, and employee success programs are in place
  • Support the succession planning process, ensuring key talent pipelines are nurtured and prepared for future leadership roles
