Requirements
- Core science depth (PhD or equivalent industry R&D know-how) in genomics, molecular biology, entomology, plant pathology, virology and/or bacteriology (or similar), with breadth across technological areas relevant for non-transferable pest control.
- Experience in RNAi for insect/weed/fungal targets (design, stability, formulation/delivery, resistance mgmt.).
- Experience in Semiochemicals/pheromones (biosynthesis/bioprocess scale-up, deployment/mating disruption).
- Experience in Insecticidal proteins (incl. Bt/next-gen) or engineered in-plant expression.
- Experience in IPM design & field implementation with measurable on-farm outcomes.
- Translational execution: e.g. taking traits/actives from discovery to field efficacy, managing CRO/CDMO programs, building regulator/investor/customer-ready data packages; and/or partnership development and scalable IP strategy.
- Cross-functional ownership across R&D, Product, Regulatory, IP, evidenced by shipped results.
- Experience with EPA/EU regulations and GLP study planning/oversight, or design of pivotal field trials supporting registration.
- Venture creation/fundraising experience; and/or product leadership in ag-biotech.
- Highly motivated by unsolved challenges in non-transferable pesticide control.
- Impact driven, takes initiative, makes things happen, and thinks from a first principles perspective.
- Clear entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, demonstrated through impactful innovation.
- Ability to work in ambiguous, unstructured but fast-paced, demanding and pressurised environments.

Responsibilities
- Found and spin out a new company focused on non-transferable pest control.
- Refine the technical thesis for pest control that is scalable, durable, and effective without off-target effects.
- Develop commercial strategy including IP strategy, differentiation, and competition.
- Define the value proposition, market, value capture, and techno-economics.
- Formulate regulatory strategy and positioning.
- Develop fundraising strategy and pitching.
- Optimize company strategy for a rapid and derisked path to Series A.
- Prepare for Investment Committee review by fulfilling investment criteria, recruiting team members, and fundraising.
- Receive pre-seed investment and spin out the company.
