AS400 Administrator - Contract (Onsite)

Proven experience in AS/400 administration. Strong knowledge of security administration, hardware maintenance, and disk management. Experience with MQ Series, network administration, and operating system upgrades. Familiarity with ServiceNow, CL programming, and SQL. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a complex mixed platform environment.

Manage and configure Apache servers on AS/400 systems. Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of applications on the AS/400 platform. Handle the installation and management of digital certificates. Plan and execute upgrades for applications to ensure they are up-to-date and secure. Manage user IDs and authority lists for system security. Resolve hardware issues and coordinate with vendors for support. Monitor and manage disk space for optimal performance. Administer global mirror replication for data redundancy. Oversee MQ Series for message queuing and integration. Manage network configurations and troubleshoot issues. Administer the AS/400 operating system, including user management. Plan and implement operating system upgrades. Apply program temporary fixes (PTFs) for system vulnerabilities. Optimize system performance through tuning. Manage print queues and resolve printing issues. Administer Virtual I/O Server (VIOS) for resource management. Oversee job scheduling and workload management. Install, maintain, and tailor Backup, Recovery, and Media Services (BRMS). Analyze and resolve complex problems in a mixed platform environment. Utilize ServiceNow for incident, problem, and change management. Develop and maintain CL programs for automation. Use SQL for database queries and management.
