🔍 Renewable energy

  • 3+ years of indirect and/or sales/use experience in a corporate or consulting firm environment
  • Must have experience with sales/use tax across many states
  • Solar, fund, construction, and/or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with complex organizational structures preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion accounting software and/or Vertex a plus
  • ERP implementation for sales tax a plus
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, make decisions, prioritize job duties, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Assist with management of sales/use tax inquiry submissions and allocation to the appropriate team member for resolution
  • Assist with management of relationship with external advisors
  • Assist with maintenance of sales/use tax calendar to ensure all filings are timely processed, including updating and registering for new farms as needed
  • Timely preparation of monthly sales and use tax returns (monthly, quarterly, or annually)
  • Assist with managing payment of sales and use tax, and other taxes, including updating management support tools for new projects
  • Assist with reconciling GL and accrue for any under/overpaid taxes
  • Assist with any audits as necessary
  • Assist with reviewing legal documents for sales tax implications
  • Manage issuance of tax exemption certificates to vendors
  • Request tax exemption certificate for new farms in construction within days of construction start date
  • Assist with preparation of sales and use tax estimates for development projects as requested by the development or finance teams. This may include actual preparation of estimates or to support the team
  • Provide support to other departments as needed, including asset management, EPC, accounting, development and finance
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail, are essential for interacting with internal and external stakeholders clearly and professionally.
  • Expert with Microsoft Outlook/email scheduling software required. Proficient with DocuSign, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
  • Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and manage all administrative needs of the CLO, including all calendaring, travel arrangements, expense reimbursements, and email management.
  • Manage and coordinate Legal Department initiatives, including In-House Lawyers, Title & Survey, Legal Operations, Governance, Compliance and External Affairs.
  • Act as a liaison between executives and internal/external stakeholders, including coordination of initiatives or projects related to communication, scheduling, and prioritization.
