- 5-10 years of experience practicing law, ideally in a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel specializing in financial services and cryptocurrency.
- Experience in a high-performance, dynamic environment, managing complex projects under tight deadlines.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant US regulations for trading firms, including money transmission laws and SEC/FINRA rules.
- Experience with data requests from government and commercial parties preferred.
- Relevant experience in dispute resolution or litigation preferred.
- Ability to apply legal concepts to diverse issues, both US and non-US.
- Good understanding of the crypto industry and willingness to quickly learn.
- Strong grasp of commercial law related to financial services.
- Detail-oriented with a hands-on approach to legal and business problems.
- Familiarity with MS Office and learning new tools as needed.
- Lead US regulatory research and advise the business on the implications for Wintermute’s business lines.
- Track evolving cryptocurrency regulations as they apply to Wintermute.
- Monitor ongoing litigation and bankruptcy cases relevant to Wintermute's counterparties.
- Manage inquiries or information requests from regulators or third parties.
- Lead specific projects related to regulatory topics.
- Negotiate and implement regulatory changes to documentation.
- Advise and operationalize legal advice linked to business objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on non-US regulatory matters.
- Engage in varied legal projects based on skills and company needs.
