Requirements
- Have 3+ years of experience leading a software engineering team.
- Have 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
- Bring experience designing, building and operating production systems with high-throughput and reliability requirements.
- Be comfortable working with JVM languages, specifically Java or Kotlin, as well as Kubernetes and AWS.
- Understand resilient, fault-tolerant systems, including microservices, messaging and data storage.
- Connect technical solutions to business metrics such as cost, reliability and delivery speed.
- Have English proficiency at B2 or higher.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of engineers through hiring, onboarding, career development and feedback.
- Own team delivery and service reliability by setting priorities, planning roadmaps and balancing quality, scope and timelines.
- Drive technical strategy and architecture for high-load, distributed systems.
- Partner with product, other engineering teams and stakeholders to understand needs and align priorities.
- Improve team and department practices for code quality, testing, observability, incident management and CI/CD.
- Contribute to department-wide best practices, hiring standards and engineering community growth.
