Experience: 7+ years of backend engineering experience in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot, with at least 2 years in a Tech Lead or senior technical leadership role.

Have 7+ years of backend engineering experience in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot.
Have at least 2 years in a Tech Lead or senior technical leadership role.
Bring strong distributed systems experience, including microservices and event-driven architectures using Kafka or SQS.
Have experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL on Aurora, and caching with Redis.
Have experience building or leading fraud engines, rule engines, risk scoring systems, or transaction monitoring platforms.
Understand velocity checks, device fingerprinting, behavioural analytics, risk tiering, and pre-auth/post-auth decision flows.
Have architectural leadership experience defining technical vision, writing ADRs, leading architecture reviews, and making design decisions across services and domains.
Understand domain-driven design, hexagonal architecture, and clean service boundaries.
Have designed low-latency, high-stakes decision services for live transaction flows.
Work effectively across engineering teams, product managers, compliance teams, and fraud analysts.

Define and own the architecture for fraud detection, prevention, and response, including decision services, event enrichment, signal collection, engine integration, and case management connectors.
Build and mentor the fraud engineering squad through tailored assignments, knowledge-sharing sessions, and regular feedback.
Establish coding, review, testing, and observability standards, and track technical debt.
Lead technical alignment with Payments Orchestration, Digital Assets, Onboarding, Fiat, FinCrime, and Back Office.
Author and guide RFCs and technical briefs through architecture reviews.
Oversee data pipelines from the fraud engine into Snowflake and QuickSight for dashboards, KPI tracking, and regulatory reporting.
Maintain production reliability with observability, runbooks, and alerting; participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
Contribute hands-on engineering while balancing technical direction, team growth, and coordination.
