Requirements
- Have 6–10 years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps.
- Have at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering capacity with direct responsibility for a live production system.
- Bring hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure in a production environment.
- Have working knowledge of AWS IAM, Lambda or ECS, Amazon RDS, Amazon CloudWatch and CloudWatch Alarms, and AWS WAF.
- Have strong programming experience in TypeScript or Python.
- Have shipped and maintained applications under HIPAA or SOC 2 requirements.
- Have participated in at least one formal compliance audit, security audit, or penetration test.
- Understand cloud security, access controls, monitoring, and infrastructure reliability.
- Be willing to provide working-hour overlap with U.S. Eastern Time mornings.
- Have reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace.
- Preferred: experience supporting healthcare technology platforms or applications handling Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Preferred: experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Take technical ownership of production systems and maintain availability, reliability, and performance.
- Manage AWS IAM, Lambda or ECS, RDS, CloudWatch, and AWS WAF.
- Configure monitoring, logging, alerting, and CloudWatch alarms.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and backend services using TypeScript or Python.
- Support application deployments, infrastructure updates, and production troubleshooting.
- Maintain cloud security controls, access management, and infrastructure best practices.
- Support HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance, including security documentation and technical controls, and participate in audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
- Oversee incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous infrastructure improvements.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and work with engineering, security, and operations teams.
