Requirements
- Have 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Have experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Have experience shipping front-end applications.
- Have experience defining a technical plan for delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, and extensible design.
- Write high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
- Be proficient at making significant changes in a large code base.
- Have developed tools and practices that enable safe changes to a large code base.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team, leading engineers through ambiguity and supporting them throughout delivery.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics through ideation; articulate technical constraints and help evaluate risks and trade-offs.
- Identify project, process, technology, and business issues, advocate for them, and lead efforts to resolve them.
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues when needed, and support operations, availability, and on-call efforts.
- Set or improve team code review and design standards, and advocate for them through writing and tech talks.
- Provide feedback and guidance to develop talent on the team and lead by example.
