Requirements
- Have 7+ years of relevant design experience working on B2B or enterprise software products.
- Bring experience designing tools and services for developers or other highly technical users; this is preferred.
- Provide a portfolio of effective designs for complex products delivered in a fast-paced environment.
- Have experience running qualitative research in complex fields and understanding users’ needs and pain points.
- Balance business goals, product priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical considerations in design decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time zones to iteratively ship and evolve products.
- Show attention to detail and willingness to learn a complex, technical product space.
- Have experience working in a fully remote, fast-paced environment with transparency and autonomy.
- Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces is a bonus.
- Observability, cloud infrastructure, or database monitoring knowledge is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Design clear ways for customers to understand and explore how their systems connect.
- Translate research and data into experiences that make complex information easier to digest.
- Tailor experiences to different target audiences and user perspectives.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, technical writing, GTM, and Product Design colleagues.
- Prioritize work while balancing business priorities, customer needs, and technical considerations.
- Document user needs, pain points, design directions, UX trade-offs, and detailed feature designs.
- Conduct research and contribute to quantitative and qualitative research initiatives with researchers, collaborators, customers, and the Grafana user community.
- Coach and mentor other designers and contribute to Product Design team initiatives and ways of working.
