Requirements
- Have at least 8 years of product design experience in fast-paced environments, including 3+ years operating at Staff level or above.
- Have experience leading complex product areas.
- Demonstrate experience designing AI-powered products such as conversational interfaces, chatbots, copilots, intelligent agents, or automated workflows, with a relevant portfolio.
- Have led AI or machine learning product design from concept and zero-to-one development through iterative scaling and continuous improvement.
- Bring multidisciplinary UX, UI, interaction, and visual design capabilities for complex workflows.
- Understand AI product design principles, including prompt design, conversational UX, agentic workflows, human-in-the-loop interactions, progressive disclosure, and trust calibration.
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers and AI researchers and translate technical concepts into interaction models, error states, and confidence thresholds.
- Have active experience using AI tools for prototyping, research synthesis, design exploration, and code-assisted design.
- Influence product direction, communicate complex ideas, manage stakeholder expectations, and align cross-functional teams.
- Have experience coaching and developing designers and improving design quality and strategic capabilities across teams.
- Be comfortable navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and rapidly evolving environments.
- Demonstrate commitment to evidence-based design, experimentation, user research, and measurable product outcomes.
- Experience or familiarity with payroll, HR technology, fintech, or compliance platforms is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Define design direction for AI products, conversational interfaces, intelligent agents, AI labs, and developer experience tools.
- Establish design standards, reusable interaction patterns, and quality guidelines for AI-powered experiences.
- Identify high-impact opportunities, lead complex design initiatives, and influence product strategy with design narratives and customer insights.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, AI specialists, researchers, business partners, and design system teams.
- Set success criteria, make prioritization decisions, remove blockers, and deliver high-quality AI experiences.
- Develop research practices, conduct competitor and market analysis, and establish feedback loops and dogfooding initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and support product designers through feedback and professional development.
- Coordinate with design leaders to ensure consistency across conversational AI, agent-driven actions, and the broader platform.
