Requirements
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, or third-party logistics.
- Experience directly supervising and leading teams, including employee development, performance management, coaching, and accountability.
- Demonstrated success building and managing high-performing operational teams.
- Previous experience in a senior operations leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of project cargo and multimodal transportation.
- Experience managing complex logistics projects and remote teams.
- Ability to improve operational performance, financial results, and customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Experience overseeing multiple operational functions within a third-party logistics organization preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing operational processes and performance improvement initiatives preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of transportation, freight forwarding, and project logistics operations.
- Manage, mentor, and develop operations and project management teams.
- Set performance expectations, coach employees, conduct evaluations, and maintain team accountability.
- Oversee complex domestic and international logistics projects.
- Develop and implement operational standards, procedures, and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Collaborate with sourcing, sales, finance, and executive leadership.
- Monitor project performance, financial results, customer satisfaction, and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and contractual requirements.
- Build customer, carrier, and vendor relationships and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
