Requirements
- Have strong production experience building and maintaining backends with Python and Django.
- Have good PostgreSQL and SQL skills, including query optimization and migrations.
- Have hands-on Linux server administration and production troubleshooting experience.
- Have experience with REST APIs, background jobs, and task queues such as Celery or RabbitMQ.
- Be comfortable with Git, code reviews, testing, and safe deployments.
- Use AI tools to enhance productivity and work quality, and apply AI pragmatically in day-to-day work.
- Work independently and reliably, take initiative, and communicate technical issues clearly.
- Experience with Hetzner, Neon, Nginx, S3-compatible storage, or CI/CD is a bonus.
- Basic familiarity with 3D models and simple 3D workflows is a bonus.
- Experience with AI APIs or media processing is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Own, review, improve, and develop the Python/Django backend, including building features with the founder.
- Manage the Hetzner Linux server, deployments, software updates, and server security.
- Investigate backend issues, resolve incidents, and improve performance.
- Maintain the PostgreSQL database and help migrate it to Neon.
- Keep background jobs, external API integrations, monitoring, and backups reliable.
- Use AI coding tools daily to improve productivity while maintaining quality.
