Requirements
- Bring 10+ years of engineering experience, including real time at staff level.
- Have previously worked as a staff-level technical leader and want to remain a technical leader rather than become a manager.
- Have built or owned a public API, developer platform, SDKs or webhooks for a product people pay for; dev tooling experience also counts.
- Have driven a significant cross-team change at a company with 80+ engineers by getting the right people on board across teams.
- Have experience with a company at the Series B-to-growth stage, around 100 to 300 engineers.
- Be comfortable owning infrastructure alongside application code.
- Communicate clearly in writing and in person, and build rapport across teams.
Responsibilities
- Build the systems and relationships that let Quo teams add features to the public API and encourage engineering teams to use it.
- Own the long-term architecture for the API platform, including the planned Python and TypeScript SDKs.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for partnerships, product and leadership on API and integration capabilities.
- Set expectations for API and integration requests and protect the roadmap from requests that would derail it.
- Mentor senior engineers through design reviews, PR reviews and coaching.
- Keep the platform fast, reliable and observable as traffic grows.
