Requirements
- Approximately 6 or more years of experience developing and supporting complex production software systems; demonstrated delivery and technical impact may matter more than a strict years threshold.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Practical frontend development experience with React and TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Experience with relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
- Ability to independently investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues.
- Experience making technical design decisions and owning software development initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills, sound technical judgment, and ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving requirements.
- Ability to balance delivery objectives with software quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or another major cloud platform is a plus.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD practices is a plus.
- Payments, FinTech, or security-sensitive industry experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own complex software features from requirements and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Translate business and technical challenges into actionable development plans.
- Build and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, integrations, and frontend applications.
- Make feature-level technical design decisions involving API architecture, data models, and system integrations.
- Investigate production incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Promote application security, automated testing, observability, performance optimization, and technical documentation.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor other developers through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Improve engineering processes and development workflows, and automate repetitive tasks.
